At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, postcards engraved romantic views or various characters into posterity, and were often covered with astonishing writings. In reality, very few postcards are suitable for quality brooch designs, and this work of identification and selection requires extensive research.
AWA’s creations of unusual jewellery and of transformation accessories are based on the principles of recovery, diversion, repair and communication.
AWA is bringing of a new way in design which, by combining familiar elements and current techniques, improves and transforms an object into another. We design «enlightened» accessories open to the possibilities of individual combinations that do bear values mixed between the past and the future so as to live in an eco-friendly present.

The postcard brooches are unique pieces, numbered and produced in small series. They can also be produced in collaboration with e.g., shops or agents of public or private institutions, for the enhancement of a geographical site or during a particular event. To that intent, old postcards from a specific region or town can be used, or the focus can be on reproducing a specific object or symbol.
